The Department of Political Science at UCLA seeks applications for lecturer positions during the 2020-2021 academic year.
|We are looking for candidates to fill one position teaching advanced undergraduate classes in Race and Ethnic Politics, most likely “143C. Politics of American Suburbanization,” “186 Special Studies in Race, Ethnicity and Politics: Asian-American Politics” and “186 Special Studies in Race, Ethnicity and Politics: African-American Politics.”Responsibilities will include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, and the writing and grading of exams. Ability to work cooperatively with other faculty and Department staff is essential.Qualified candidates (a) must have a Ph.D. in political science, or a Ph.D. Certificate of Completion by September 11, 2020, and (b) must be actively engaged in political science research reflecting current disciplinary standards.Candidates should provide (1) a CV, (2) a 1 page teaching statement, (3) teaching evaluations, (4) sample course syllabi and (5) a list of courses they can teach with an emphasis on those relevant to this ad (see courses in the 100-184 range in our course catalog:|
