The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, invites applications for a three-year postdoc position offering applicants an exciting opportunity to join the InRoot project (read more here), which focuses on the molecular dynamics of plant interactions with complex soil microbial communities.

Job description/research project/research area
You are expected to contribute to high-throughput sequencing data analysis, data curation, database management and integrative analysis of large datasets derived from both plants and microbes. The project will include RNA-seq, 16S profile, microbial genome, metagenomic and -transcriptomic data.
Applicants should hold a PhD in bioinformatics or computer science. Candidates with a PhD degree in molecular biology will also be considered, if extensive bioinformatics experience can be documented.
Excellent programming skills and documented bioinformatics experience is required. Fluency in spoken and written English is expected. Experience with analysis of microbiome, metagenome or RNA-seq data is an advantage. In addition, the candidate should be able and prepared to work as part of a large team in a collaborative project.
Who we are/ The department
The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University and comprises research within the areas of Gene Expression, Molecular Medicine, Structural Biology, Systems Biology and Plant Molecular Biology. There are currently 75 full time scientific staff and 120 PhD students. The department is responsible for two educations: Molecular Biology and Molecular Medicine with a yearly uptake of 160 students in total. Shortlisting is used. Formalities and salary range
Natural Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
